I’ve been on the lookout for a new chambray or denim shirt to wear on its own or layer over a tee shirt on a cold spring day. If you like a Western-style shirt or a simple button down chambray shirt, you might like one of these.
Companies often use the terms chambray and denim interchangeably. Denim is typically a stiffer or thicker fabric than chambray, but you often find thinner denim used for shirts. Here are some chambray and denim shirts that I found.

Western Style
My favorite Western-style shirt, with “pearl” snap buttons, came from the Gap years ago. It has worn well and is soft and comfortable. Here are two from Gap Factory that I like.

Levi’s is a classic. Macy’s sells this Western shirt in two shades of blue and black.

These two versions from J. Crew Factory are also nice. I have a few shirts from J. Crew and the quality is very good. These shirts are in the company’s slim fit style, which has a more tailored fit.

This one from Boden is a darker blue and has a little more ruffle at the cuffs.
