We’re headed to Brooklyn to spend Father’s Day weekend with our son. It’s going to be great weather and we hope to have an outdoor NYC experience.
Wishing all of the Dads (and everyone else) a wonderful weekend.

- From OZY last year: 15 Dad Stories to Celebrate Father’s Day.
- Looking for something to watch this weekend? Here are some options:
- Elle magazine’s 30 Best Movies to Watch on Father’s Day.
- The Guardian’s Ten of the best films about fathers.
- The Playlist’s 25 Great Movies about Fathers.
- Note to self – Watch The Bicycle Thieves (recommended in two of the movie lists above).
- When we visit New York, we’ve taken to buying bagels from The Bagel Hole to sustain us on the long ride home. The Bagel Hole is a tiny shop in Park Slope, Brooklyn with no place to sit, but their bagels are amazing. If you go, don’t ask them to toast your bagel, because that’s not happening. Here’s one person’s review.
- These look like great shoes for men (women too). Made from superfine merino wool (breathable, not itchy) and water-resistant on the outside. The soles are made from castor bean oil, reducing the carbon footprint when compared to petroleum-based foam soles. The laces are made from recycled plastic.
- This chocolate is aptly named Big Daddy and is available for sharing on Father’s Day.
- Looking for a menu for Father’s Day? Maybe some of these choices will work:
- Negroni Cocktails or Sparkling Rhubarb Cocktails
- Arugula, Orange and Fennel Salad
- Mussels with Sweet Italian Sausage and White Wine or Seared Polenta with Cherry Tomatoes (vegan option)
- Garlic Toasts
- Fresh berries with lemon or raspberry sorbet (vegan option) or Rhubarb Upside Down Cake with vanilla or salted caramel ice cream
Goodness: You are going to love this Dad! Be sure to watch the video near the end of the article.
