If you are like me, your heart is breaking to know that children are being separated from their parents at our country’s border.
The sound of children sobbing on this video is unbearable. The fact that we are doing this is unforgivable.
The families crossing our border are fleeing desperate, violent conditions. To escape such horrific conditions, with the hope of gaining asylum and protecting your children, only to have them ripped from your arms is unthinkable.
I have called my representatives about this issue. I know that it isn’t enough, but it is a start.
Cup of Jo has a really good post about the families, what asylum is, why these families are unable to enter our country legally and what we can do to help stop the separation of children from their parents. I welcome this information and I think that you will also find it helpful.
I hope that this terrible situation will be stopped soon.
