This spring I wrote a post about Couture Planet’s handbags, a cool local company that makes handbags and accessories. After reading my post, they thanked me with this wonderful handbag featuring a map with Martha’s Vineyard. It’s such a great bag!

I met Kathy Cormier, one of the women who runs the business, early this year and she remembered that I spend time on Martha’s Vineyard. Hence, her choice of this bag featuring my favorite island. By the way, Nantucket appears on the other side of the bag.

Several people have admired my new handbag and asked where I got it. I keep the company’s business card tucked in the inner pocket, so that I can share it with interested admirers. I am happy to show off my Couture Planet’s handbag and talk about the company, because there is so much that I like about Couture Planet.

Founded and run by women, Couture Planet is a local Massachusetts company. Their handbags are made from 100% post-consumer newspaper. The bags are made waterproof by treating them with a cool press laminate. You can also get the bags with longer leather straps, which are made from repurposed leather by a family-owned company in New England.

The company sells a variety of handbags and accessories with a myriad of whimsical and beautiful designs. They also do custom orders, so you can have a bag made especially for you.

In the Stella bag, I like the Sunday Styles, the Shoes and the Wine bags.

A couple of the Coco handbags are calling to me.

The Cocktails bag is so much fun!

The colors of the Van Cleef bag are beautiful and I love the simple message on the back side of the bag, “Such a lovely spring.”

Couture Planet, Marilyn Clutches

There is a nice selection of Marilyn clutches. I’m “drawn” to the Dior Sketch clutch. In fact, I like all of the Dior clutches, including Dior Artist and Dior Woman.

The blue of the Van Cleef & Arpels Blue is beautiful.
