Autumn Spritz Cocktails

Autumn Spritz Cocktail

It’s the perfect season to serve this Autumn Spritz cocktail. With hard apple cider and a dash of Aperol, it’s refreshing and festive. It’s also a beautiful autumnal color.

I got the idea for this drink from a cocktail recipe in a magazine. The original recipe called for hard pear cider and a pear garnish. I changed the recipe to use hard apple cider and an apple slice for garnish.

The result is light and fizzy and has the delicious apple flavor of autumn. The Aperol adds a slight orange hue to the cocktail and a touch of bitter fruitiness that complements the hard cider. A little lemon juice balances the flavors.

This recipe makes one cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 1 ounce Aperol, an Italian apéritif
  • 3 ounces hard apple cider
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • Seltzer water
  • Apple slice for garnish

Directions

Fill a glass with ice. Use a glass that will hold about a cup of liquid when empty.

Add the Aperol, hard apple cider and lemon juice. Top it off with some seltzer water and stir.

Garnish the drink with a slice of apple. Enjoy!
