Striped Breton Shirt with Fringe

Fringe is having a moment. My striped Breton shirt with fringe is a trendy take on the traditional Breton.

I have Breton-style stripes in almost any form you can get them. Dresses, long sleeve T-shirts, short sleeve T-shirts, button down shirts, sweatshirts, even pocketbooks. You can never have too many stripes! While this top has classic navy and white colors and traditional lines, the fringe along the hem changes things up a bit.

This J. Crew shirt is wonderfully soft and comfortable. It is one of the softest long sleeve T-shirts I own. The fabric is just a touch thicker than a typical T. I wore it all spring. It was perfect for cool summer nights and I plan to wear it this fall. The sleeves have a slightly shorter length, which I really like on this Breton T.

J. Crew Breton Shirt

Unfortunately this shirt is no longer available, but J. Crew carries lots of other striped T-shirts. If you are looking for a Breton shirt, here are some options: navy and ivory striped boatneck T-shirt, this striped boatneck T-shirt comes in flame and ivory or navy and ivory, here’s another navy and ivory striped T-shirt.

If you want stripes in a short sleeve T, here’s one from J. Crew in, you guessed it, navy and ivory. I really like this very short sleeve version.

J. Crew also carries some great looking Saint James slouchy striped T-shirts in long sleeve and short sleeve options. The dropped sleeve looks great on these tops.

I’m also wearing Hudon jeans (similar, in black, and cropped version) and Ralph Lauren suede slip-on shoes (similar).
