Spring Flowers in Brooklyn, NY

White Flowering Tree in Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn NY

We had a wonderful time in Brooklyn two weekends ago. Spring was further along there than in Boston and I delighted in all of the flowers in bloom.

The colorful flowers brought bursts of color to busy city sidewalks, tiny front yards and the well-maintained grounds of Green-Wood cemetery. Here’s a little bit of that floral cheer.

On Saturday morning, a block of Prospect Street was filled with color, including these daffodils and hyacinths.

A freshly mulched square along the sidewalk sported lots of yellow daffodils. I think that spring is when yellow shows itself off in the floral world.

We walked through Green-Wood cemetery in the late afternoon. The slopes were covered with daffodils.

Trees were starting to flower, including this pink one and the white one at the start of this post.

It was a wonderful day to be walking in the city and enjoying the arrival of spring.
