This weekend we are celebrating my husband’s birthday and getting together with friends we haven’t seen in a very long time. It will be so good to catch up with them.
I hope that you have a wonderful weekend!
- The Guardian’s US colleagues stepped aside to let student journalists from Eagle Eye, the award-winning newspaper at Marjory Stoneman Douglas high school, be guest editors for 48 hours.
- As Women’s History month comes to a close, here are several great Huffington Post articles celebrating women.
Loved the photos of girls going to school around the world. - You can also give Candice Reels’s International Women’s Day playlist a listen.
- Do you hesitate over the s’s too? (see above) Here are the rules.
I’ve noticed that people get more confused about it when they try to say a name with s’s out loud. - This salmon dish would be a great recipe for a spring dinner. Must try soon.
- This Seared Polenta and Cherry Tomato dish is delicious. Bonus – it’s vegan.
- I like these lines about writing in Kathleen Volk Miller’s story A Future Without Him, Aided by Duct Tape. “I tell my students that life’s biggest moments — car accidents, graduations, even deaths — may not be the best fodder for their writing. I tell them the most significant moments happen on a random Tuesday.”
- Flowers are big in fabrics this spring. Here are a few favorites:
- This Marimekko Print Cotton Skirt is pricey, but so pretty that I included it here, so we can pause to admire it.
- Love the asymmetrical bow and the red color of these Rose Floral Bow Mules.
- These Floral Print Sneakers would look great with a pair of slim boyfriend jeans.
- Summer isn’t that far away and this Floral Surplus Jumpsuit would be so great for outings this summer.
- Goodness: A personal entry this week. My friend Zoe gave me a guardian angel coin to keep with me as I start my new job. Someone gave it to her and she asked me to pass it along when someone I know is in need of some goodness.
About the photo: These orange blossoms smelled so good! I wish that I could share their fragrance with you.
