We’re looking forward to dinner with friends this weekend, including goodies that Alain and Houda brought back from France. Yum!
Enjoy this first weekend of February!
As I walked out of the office after work one day this week, I had the most pleasant surprise. It was still light outside! I had the happiest drive home. It’s incredible that such a small change in daylight can make me feel so much joy. It’s just the beginning. We’ll have plenty more snow and freezing temperatures. But increasing daylight cannot be taken away — until next fall.
Keep an eye out for a little more daylight next week!
Here’s what I have to share this weekend.
- Tree — For a peaceful moment in hectic times, listen to the sounds of a forest. I’ve just enjoyed the sounds of tree frogs. (tree.fm)
- Wise Words — Here’s a great post with members of the reading community being so supportive of each other in the comments. (Cup of Jo)
- Stop Ignoring All the Mundane Miracles in Your Life — This is a compelling argument for taking notes on everything we see. (The New York Times)
- The Perfect Chocolate Bundt Cake — A chocolate cake could be just the thing to get us well into February. (Joy the Baker)
- Indoor Gardens — Here are some plants and garden pots that might provide inspiration for indoor gardening. (Sea Salt and Sailor Stripes)
- Goodness: They gather to bake bread each week, then give away thousands of loaves — What a great program! (The Washington Post)
