It’s the weekend!

It's the weekend! Number 265, Kale in My Garden

We’re looking forward to catching up with our friends at dinner this weekend. We haven’t seen them since spring and everyone will have lots of stories to tell.

I’m thinking of everyone who has been impacted by the hurricanes over the last two weeks and hoping that you and your loved ones are safe and that you are getting the help that you need.

If you grow kale, you know that it is the plant that keeps on giving. I’ve harvested a lot of kale this summer and the animals have had their fair share of my Tuscan kale, but I still have so much kale left. I have two other varieties: Red Russian kale and some type of curly kale. The Red Russian kale has reseeded itself in my garden for a few years.

I’ve made kale casseroles, kale salads, kale pesto, sautéed kale and kale soups. I’ve added it to vegetable stews and meat stews. If you see a lot of kale recipes on my blog, now you know why.

Here’s what I’m sharing this weekend and none of it involves kale.
