I’m looking forward to a relaxing weekend and a visit from our son. We’ll cook together and maybe do some exploring.
I hope that you have a great weekend!
Another birthday is just around the corner and I’m using it as an excuse to take a vacation. I won’t be posting this week.
With thoughts of aging in mind, here’s what I have for you this weekend.

- Mary Louise Kelly interviews Emma about the film here: Emma Thompson on her new film — and the idea the female orgasm has to be performative (NPR)
- Review: ‘The Old Man’ is worth watching for Jeff Bridges’s performance — This series sounds great. (NPR)
- Reality Check 66 — There are times when we feel the aging process more than usual. (High Heels in the Wilderness)
- Random Observations From a Still-Sexagenarian — Watch out for the wee hours of the morning. (Materfamilias Writes)
- Goodness: He Planted a Giant Sequoia in the UK to Offset His Carbon Footprint for Life – And 700 More to Make a Forest — These trees can live a very long time! (Good News Network)
About the photo: A beach path and sunset reflected on clouds at Joseph Sylvia State Beach on Martha’s Vineyard.
Thanks so much for linking to my blogpost, Dottie! I’m off now to look at that interview with Emma Thompson, whom I also admire very much. (I’d be tempted to ask her–rhetorically, of course– if she agrees the chances are even slimmer that anyone cares about the sexual satisfaction of 70+ women, as I sidle up to that big number myself 😉
Frances, Thank you for always having such interesting content that I want to share it with my small group of readers. You are a wonderful writer and the images you bring to life with your words are so pleasing.
Sigh, I do believe that you are right about the importance of older women’s sexual satisfaction. One comfort is that there are many of us and we care, so there is some power in that! Be well and be satisfied in all things.
