It looks like our gardens will get some much-needed rain this weekend, but Sunday might provide a break. If so, we can fit in a large walk. Color is popping out all over and I love being out there to see it!
Have a great weekend!
Last Sunday night, I went to Trader Joe’s for a few essentials. It was dusk as I drove home. I passed the big temporary electronic message board telling residents to wear a mask and keep six feet apart. I was struck by the fact that I’ve passed the sign so often over the last year, it has become ordinary, almost part of landscape. It felt like something out of a futuristic film. In April 2019, I couldn’t have imagined that signs like this would be part of our lives. The New York Times article below is compelling. It is heartbreaking and hopeful and all-things-pandemic in between.

- It’s time for hats. Have you noticed how hot the sun is lately? I always have this Scala Cotton version on hand, because it is so easy to stuff into a bag. I have it in several colors, but the black one gets the most use. (Scala)
