I’m looking forward to staying outside late this weekend and watching the fireflies flicker in my backyard. It must be summer!
Have a great summer weekend!
It’s that time of summer when you need to spend a lot of time in the garden, harvesting the results of your spring planting. We’ve had a couple of delicious salads using our red and green leaf lettuce. I picked my first cucumber this week and more are on the way. I made my first batch of pesto from our basil and it is already time to pick more or else the plants will get leggy. Green beans are on their way!
We had a couple of lazy dinners in the backyard this week and it was so relaxing. I made a delicious charred lemon, scallion and feta dip that we ate with pita bread along with some locally-made muhammara. Another night, dinner was good bread spread with ricotta, topped with heirloom tomato slices and drizzled with radish green pesto. There might have been a glass of chilled wine to accompany the food.
