We’re looking forward to a Boston harbor dinner cruise with my husband’s coworkers tomorrow. We’ve been sharing holiday parties, weddings, babies and other life events with them for years.
Enjoy this first August weekend.
- Avocado Dye is, Naturally, Millennial Pink — A great article about creating dyes from natural sources. I love the pink!
- High school photographers created a collection about their lives in Appalachian Ohio — What great work these kids have done.
- 5 Books the editors of Coveteur are reading this summer. Because summer isn’t over yet.
- Speaking of summer reading (and listening), here’s what I’ve been up to lately:
- Listening to Missing Molly — There’s a bit of The Girl on the Train feel to this story of a woman who has a big secret. Things start to unravel when the newspaper she works for launches a cold case podcast about a young girl who disappeared many years ago.
- Reading Tisiphone’s Quest — A veteran detective races through space, tracking down those responsible for murdering an antiquarian and stealing a special object in his possession. It’s a deadly game of hide and seek as Sam (the detective) and her small group of allies search for the killers, while being pursued by others who want the object and will kill to get it.
- Let Us Walk You Through This Unhinged Astrological Drama — Is this really happening?
- This weekend’s refreshing cocktail is an Italian Gentleman.
- Goodness: This US school teaches refugees in the language of soccer and sees a 100% college acceptance rate.
