This sautéed celery recipe creates a bold vegetable side dish. Garlic and a little red pepper nicely balance the slightly bitter celery.
This is a very easy dish that takes little time to make. If you have a head of celery in your refrigerator and are looking for a way to use it, I suggest making some sautéed celery.
This recipe makes 4 servings.
Ingredients
- 2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
- 4 cups celery, cut into 1/2-inch slices
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- A couple pinches of red pepper flakes
- Kosher salt to taste
Directions
Add the olive oil to a large skillet over medium heat. When the oil has heated, add the celery and garlic slices. Sauté until the celery is tender, but still crisp (about 6 minutes), adding the red pepper and salt just before the celery is finished cooking. Give it a taste, adjust pepper and salt as needed and lightly cook it to blend seasonings.
