We’re not getting out to shop often and food treats can be in short supply. While I think that a food gift is always a good idea, it could be appreciated more than ever this year. Here are some edible gift ideas.
Chef’s Choice Chocolate Box
A Chef’s Choice Chocolate Box (shown in the photo above) from EHChocolatier in Cambridge, Massachusetts, will please everyone on your shopping list. It comes in sizes ranging from 6 to 36 pieces. The box includes a variety of candies selected by a chocolate maker from the team. Reviewers rave about this chocolate.
These Vermont Maple chocolates, shaped like maple leaves and filled with white chocolate maple ganache, look so good!
They also make vegan and dairy free chocolate.
Tribal Blend Olive Oil
Give a bottle of Tribal Blend Olive Oil, produced by the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation tribe in Northern California’s Capay Valley. The oil is a blend of their Arbequina, Frantoio, and Taggiasca olive oils. Here is the description from their website: “This harmonious oil has aromas of fresh olives, bay leaf and cinnamon with flavors of green almonds and green tea. Peppery and nutty with medium to robust intensity.”
Or, you can order the non-blended versions of the olive oils: Arbequina, Frantoio, and Taggiasca.
The tribe is committed to caring for Capay Valley and they employ sustainable farming practices.
Cranberry Blossom Honey
Gift your loved ones some Cranberry Blossom Honey from Carlisle Honey in Massachusetts. This honey, made from bees that live near cranberry bogs, is sure to make their lives a little sweeter. Carlisle Honey has many other honey options, including Maine Blueberry Blossom.
La Creme de la Creme Cheese Selection
Ship someone this La Creme de la Creme Cheese selection from Saxelby Cheesemongers in New York. The selection, from East coast dairies, includes Cabot Clothbound Cheddar, Tres Bonne (a firm goat’s milk cheese from Boston Post Dairy) and Weybridge (a Camembert-style cow’s milk cheese from Scholten Farm). It serves 6-8 people (or one hungry cheese lover for days).
Saxelby has other cheese offerings, such as this Triple Cream Dream or the American Cheese Society Winners Trio.
They also sell lots of cheese accompaniments, such as charcuterie, crackers, jams and preserves, and savory condiments.
Rack of Pork Ribs
Ship your favorite meat lover a whole rack of barbecued pork ribs from Lewis Barbecue in Charleston, South Carolina. The ribs are fully cooked, frozen and vacuum sealed. They were voted the best ribs in Charleston in 2018 and 2019.
Lewis Barbecue has other smoked meat options, such as turkey breast, prime beef brisket or beef ribs.
Alex’s Ugly Hot Sauce Selection
We all know someone who loves hot sauce. That’s the person to give a hot sauce selection from Alex’s Ugly Sauce in Boston, Massachusetts. You can order the Variety 3-Pack, which includes Alex’s Ugly Sauce Cayano, Original and Habanero sauces, the Extreme 3-Pack with Ghost, Original and Habanero sauces or you can build your own 3-sauce selection.
6-Pack Nut Gift Basket
Gift your friends and loved ones a 6-Pack Nut Gift Basket from Q’s Nuts in Somerville, Massachusetts. I repeatedly mention Q’s Nuts, because I really like these nuts.
The list of nut blends is long, but here are a few examples: Sea Salt Rosemary Almonds, Mexican Chocolate Pecans, Lemon Grass Cashews or Maple Bourbon Pecans.
You can also purchase individual nut bags for stocking stuffers.
