I started writing this post last summer (2020), when the number of Covid cases started to decline and I thought that we were over the worst of it. I was taking my time writing it, and before I’d finished, there was talk of a second surge. I decided to put the post aside. I am looking forward to a long weekend on Martha’s Vineyard. I hope to walk barefoot in the sand during the day and to gaze at the stars in the evening. The forecast is for rain, but I’m hoping anyway.

We’re heading to Connecticut to see my mother-in-law for the first time in many months and we’re meeting my husband’s niece and her two-year-old daughter at a playground. It will be great to see everyone!
