As the sun gets stronger, it’s time to pull out my wide-brimmed sun hats and protect my skin from those harmful rays. If you’re in search of a new summer hat, here are several suggestions.
This assortment of sun hats covers all types of summer activities from gardening, hiking, travel, to trips to the beach. All of the hats except one have an SPF 50 protection rating. They have a good size brim to protect your face and neck. Some have wire woven into them so that you can shape the brim. Others can be folded for packing. There’s even a hat for your ponytail! Many of these hats come in multiple colors.
I have several cotton hats like the beige one below. It’s washable, lightweight, and can be squished into a pocket or tote. The brim is wide enough to cover my face.
For beach days I have an older Coolibar hat with a huge brim, similar to the large natural colored one below. I’ve used it for many years and it provides a lot of coverage. My only complaint is that it doesn’t have a strap to secure it on windy days. The new Coolibar hat below has a strap.
There’s something classic about a straw hat with a black ribbon, and I included two with very different shapes.
I couldn’t resist the patterned hats. If you like a dressier hat for going out to lunch or shopping, these might be fun options.
