We’re celebrating my uncle’s 80th birthday this weekend. I’m looking forward to seeing lots of relatives I haven’t seen in a long time.
It’s not over until it’s over. We still have one more night of summer! Enjoy!
- It’s apple season! Let’s eat lots of them.
- Apples Old and New Heirloom Apple Varieties — This reprint of an old book covers 800 apple varieties.
- Give my Croissant Apple Pudding a try. Mmmm.
- Is it really time to put away our sandals? Here are some tips for transitioning your closet from summer to fall.
- More tips for cleaning out your closet this fall. I’m in with getting rid of shoes that hurt!
- Speaking of closets and shoes that don’t fit, is your left foot a little larger than your right foot? You are not alone. Need Shoes in Two Different Sizes? It’s Not as Odd as You’d Think.
- We almost had a new Academy award category. Then we didn’t. — Popular Things are Bad.
- I’m focused on a couple of Anita Diamant’s books right now.
- I am listening to The Boston Girl and I love it. It’s the story of a young Jewish woman growing up in the North End in the early 20th century. The story is narrated by the actress Linda Lavin and she is wonderful. (The Boston Girl in print and The Boston Girl in Kindle).
- I may order the printed version of Good Harbor to have the physical book experience that I love, but I see that the actress Linda Emond narrates the audio version. Tough choice. (Good Harbor in Kindle and Good Harbor in audio)
- Goodness: Founded in 1943 to support polio survivors, the National Odd Shoe Exchange provides single shoes to amputees and others who need a single shoe.
