The weather might improve a little this weekend, which will be cause for celebration. We Northerners have had a cold spring. I hope to spend part of my weekend outside.
I hope that you have a great weekend!
- Students continue to push for gun control, as demonstrated by today’s school walkout.
- Earth Day 2018 (this Sunday) is all about ending plastic pollution. Check this site for more information about how to make a difference.
- Buy a pair of sunglasses from Norton Point, a Martha’s Vineyard company, and the company removes a pound of plastic from the ocean. The sunglasses are made from recovered high-density-polyethylene (HDPE) ocean plastics. The company also gives 5% of net profits to global clean-up, education, and remediation practices.
- Paris in Stride: An Insider’s Walking Guide, looks like a great book to bring along for a trip to Paris. It’s full of charming watercolor illustrations of the sites you will see on the guide’s curated day-long walking tours.
- Haikulike 13-word love stories. This one made me laugh, “45 years bliss. Then 13-word challenge. Now can’t agree. Love doomed. Thanks.”
- Now that I’m packing my lunch every day, I need ways to change things up. I like all four of these quick lunch ideas. I’m sure some of the ingredients can be cooked in advance (buckwheat pancakes and roasted cauliflower).
- This Striped Snap-Neck Sweatshirt is calling to me.
- Ready for a drink to kickoff the weekend? Try a Bourbon Manhattan.
- Remembering Prince:
- Goodness: Batik Boutique produces batik clothing, gifts, scarves and pouches. Its goal is to provide a fair and sustainable income for women living in poor, urban conditions in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. So far they have trained 29 seamstresses and 10 of them are now earning a sustainable income. One step at a time.
About the photo: These flowers placed in my cubicle added so much joy to my first days at work. Thanks so much to my flower fairy.
