It’s the weekend!

This weekend, we’re looking forward to a raclette dinner with friends on Saturday and the Super Bowl game on Sunday!

Here in New England we’re expecting the coldest temperatures of the winter. Stay warm and safe this weekend!

It’s tough to write about things like recipes or travel with all of the disturbing things that are happening in our country and throughout the world. It’s a bit paralyzing when it comes to creating posts in the face of this trouble. I’m glad to see that so many people are expressing their support for our neighbors and for democracy. While I fear where we might be heading, I also have hope that we will do the right thing.

In the middle of this mess, I try to find the joy to keep myself going. This week’s joy was a bluebird in our backyard! It was perched on a branch and hung out there for quite a while. We couldn’t leave the window. We’ve never seen a bluebird in our area. I thought that they migrated, but it turns out that not all of them do. We haven’t seen the bird again, but we are hoping it hangs around and indulges in the treats we’re putting out for it.

I have a few things to share this weekend.
