I’m looking forward to evenings in front of the fireplace on this chilly weekend. Maybe we’ll roast some chestnuts!
Have a great weekend!
I love the colors and fabrics of this season. Rich reds, like the remaining fall maple leaves dangling from their branches. The greens of the pine trees we cover with baubles, and satin bows on packages. Purples, as in the robe sported by a king visiting a baby in a manger, my glass votives on the fireplace, or a velvet top worn to a holiday party. Gold, silver, and copper. Silk, velvet, corduroy, and cashmere. Winter is a great time for beautiful textures and colors.
The scents of the seasons are also inviting. Wood smoke coming from chimneys as we take our walks. The aroma of clove, cinnamon, and nutmeg filling our houses as we bake holiday goodies. I baked gingerbread last weekend and the house smelled fantastic!
