I’m looking forward to going to our first holiday gathering of the season and spending a cozy evening with friends. We’re also playing dominos with another group of friends, which is always so much fun!
Enjoy this first full weekend of December!
The neighborhood is decked out in colorful lights and pine wreaths. Down the street from us, a house has red and white diagonally striped paper over the window shutters and the front fence. Wreaths decorate the windows with red and white bows. Across the street a house, the shrubs, and a small tree in the front yard are strung with primary colored lights. Everything looks so festive.
I was inspired by the neighbors to join the holiday decorating slightly earlier than I usually do. I hung a wreath on the front door and put my Christmas candles in the windows. I am feeling some Christmas spirit!
Here’s what I have to share this weekend.

- I always look forward to seeing Pantone’s Color of the Year choice. For 2025, it is Mocha Mousse. (Pantone)
Pantone describes it as “…a warming, brown hue imbued with richness. It nurtures us with its suggestion of the delectable qualities of chocolate and coffee, answering our desire for comfort.” - How the Bonne Maman Advent Calendar Became a Hot Commodity — This is a great advent calendar. If you missed it like I did, here’s a mini gift set of the jams. (The New York Times and Target)
- Dark Chocolate Tahini with Sea Salt — Can you imagine some of this on morning toast? Yum! (Soom Foods)
- Glazed Apple Cider Doughnut Cake — Here’s a treat to warm a chilly weekend. (Smitten Kitchen)
