We’re looking forward to dinners and celebrations with friends this weekend. I’m also hoping to get to work in my vegetable garden.
Have a wonderful weekend!
I won’t be posting for a few weeks, because we’re heading to Paris. I can’t wait to wander neighborhoods, sit at outdoor cafés and watch the world go by, visit old friends, and check out museums I haven’t been to before.
Here’s what I have to share this week.
- The English Farmers Who Harvest Rhubarb by Candlelight — Rhubarb is one of my favorite foods of spring and I’m intrigued by the idea of growing it in the dark. (Smithsonian)
- If you like rhubarb, here are some recipes you might enjoy (all from Sea Salt and Sailor Stripes):
- Ordinary Encounters — A lovely story about how an encounter can “carbonate” your mood and a sweet reference to cirrus and cumulus hair types. (Cup of Jo)
- Types of Clouds and How to Recognize Them — If mention of cirrus and cumulus in the previous article has you wondering about clouds, here’s a lot of information about them. (Science News)
- Writer Math — If you’re in need of a laugh, or maybe not, or if you’re depressed about your writer’s block. (McSweeny’s)
- What Makes a Cookbook Great? — Thinking about cookbooks. (Sea Salt and Sailor Stripes)
- Goodness: A juice company dumped orange peels in a national park. Here’s what it looks like now. — Another example of how composting food waste can have positive results for the environment. (Upworthy)
