My weekend plans were postponed due to a cold running through my friend’s family. We’ve rescheduled the date, so I have something to look forward to in the future and a rain-free Saturday this weekend.
Have a wonderful March weekend!
Tom and I have been reading to each other from Greece travel books in preparation for a long-awaited trip this fall. We pick an island and take turns reading about its history, places to see, restaurants, and things to do. It’s a little “armchair travel” before the trip and wonderful entertainment on the weekends.
I’m glad to be getting back into the habit of reading to each other and travel guides are a fun way to do it. When I came across this article You’re Never Too Old for Story Time (The New York Times) on reading out loud to others, I thought that I would share our travel book experience.
Here’s what I have to share this weekend.
- Iris Apfel, a Full Life in Full Looks — I was sorry to read of Iris Apfel’s passing. I love her liberating approach to fashion. (The New York Times)
- How to Grow the Contents of Your Salad Bowl Indoors — If you’re interested in growing hydroponic crops in your house, you might enjoy this article. (Homes and Gardens)
- Chicories Poster — This beautiful poster would look great in a kitchen. (Etsy)
- Sun Hats — If you’re looking for a hat to protect your skin from the sun, you might like one of these. (Sea Salt and Sailor Stripes)
- The Unspoken Power Of Our ‘What If’ People — Having recently watched the series One Day, I was intrigued by this idea of “what if” people. (Elle)
- Goodness: Ancient California Redwoods Defy Scientists’ Expectations and Sprout New Shoots From Blackened Trunks — I love these ancient trees and I’m thrilled to know that they can survive such trauma. (Good News Network)
