We’re starting the weekend with another storm. Hopefully it will calm down in time for our friends John and Rita to make it for dinner.
Have a great weekend.
Winter showed up last weekend, walloping us with its blustery wet arrival. Before the snow arrived, the grocery stores were packed with people, as everyone stocked up on the essentials. You can count on New Englanders to prepare for the unexpected, and bread, eggs, and milk help with that! In Saturday night’s darkness, before the snow arrived, the sounds of snow blower engines and generators filled the air, our neighbors doing their last-minute equipment testing and preparations.
We had a half cord of wood delivered on Friday afternoon and we rushed to stack it before it got dark. The work is surprisingly hard on the back (kind of like shoveling snow), but our backaches quickly disappeared, replaced by our satisfaction with being ready for winter.
