I hope that something good is on your weekend agenda.
To kick off the weekend, tonight we’ll indulge in stuffed grape leaves, moussaka and loukoumades at the annual Arlington Greek Festival. We’ll likely return to the festival over the weekend to get our fill of their delicious homemade food (a year is a long time to wait for more).
Just for fun…
- I just finished reading Blood, Bones and Butter by Gabrielle Hamilton, owner of and chef at Prune in New York. Reading this gritty, passionate and sometimes luscious memoir alternately made yearn for her amazing food experiences and grateful to not be in her “chef’s coat.”
- In the previously mentioned book, Hamilton writes about drinking negroni during her annual visits to Italy. With summer around the corner, I’m inspired to try the negroni recipe she describes in the book. I might also try this recipe from Todd at Honestly Yum.
- Wouldn’t this be a great summer date night dress? Maybe worn with these shoes.
- I’m craving brunch at Sofra and hoping to make it there this weekend.
