We’re headed to Brooklyn, NY for a catch-up celebration with our son! We’re combining Tom’s birthday, Mother’s Day, Louis’s birthday, Jorja’s birthday, and anything else that we can think of into a weekend. The real celebration is being together.
Gardening has been my focus lately. When the weather allows it. The lower part of our yard, near a brook, is very muddy. I pull on my Muck boots and hope that I won’t get sucked too far into the gooey earth. These boots live up to their name and are about as attractive as their name implies. They are a muddy mess (and a very ugly shade of green). But, they are so practical.
I edged a small garden this week and I keep looking out the window to admire it. Those clean edges never last long, as evidenced by my other gardens, with their overgrown edges. Edging is one of those repetitive tasks that needs doing too often and it sometimes feels like too much for one gardener. But, it’s my mission to edge all of our gardens this spring. Hopefully, I can manage at least half of them.
Speaking of gardens, it is time that I stop writing about them and get back to work.
Here’s what I have for you this weekend.
