We’re headed to New Hampshire this weekend to visit Tom’s cousin and I’m looking forward to seeing what’s in bloom in her neighborhood.
I hope that you have a fun weekend filled with spring blossoms.
We had cool weather this week and I took advantage to forage in my freezer and find ingredients to make a casserole and a bean stew. I’m on a mission to get more out of the freezer, so that I have room to freeze this summer’s produce.
My vegetable garden is growing wildly. The peas, kale and Swiss chard are so big! Lettuce was a bit of a disappointment, so I’ll start over with that. I have four or five squash volunteers from my compost that are very happy in the garden, and I’m looking forward to surprise squash this fall. That’s always fun.
Peonies are bursting open, their colors magnificent. The Japanese irises have been glorious.
This is the such a great time of year for the gardens.
