It’s going to be a busy weekend. We’re having dinner with friends and it should be warm enough to sit outside! We’re having a friend for brunch on Sunday and we’ll be outside again. No winter coats needed.
Have a warm and happy weekend!
We had a wild temperature swing this week! Over the course of 5 days, I went from wearing my winter coat to a tee shirt. I had a refrigerator full of food to serve cold weather meals (roasted chicken, split pea soup). Those meals came first, during the cold start to the week. I didn’t want to be eating split pea soup in 80 degree weather!
Here’s what I’m serving up this week.
- I Lived the #VanLife. It Wasn’t Pretty. — Having lived out of a U-Haul truck for over a week while crossing the country, I can relate to some of this. (The New York Times)
- April Reading, On the Move — I’ve recently discovered the blog Materfamilias Writes and I’m enjoying Frances’s book recommendations and her posts about her recent trip to Italy. (Materfamilias Writes)
- Smitten Kitchen Keepers — It’s always exciting when Deb Perelman announces the release of a new cookbook! (Smitten Kitchen)
- An L.A. Home With Cheery Colors and the Coolest Bathrooms — Check out the painted murals in the bathrooms and the outdoor table and chairs. (Cup of Jo)
- Rice Tabbouleh — This is a great salad for outdoor entertaining. (Sea Salt and Sailor Stripes)
- Goodness: This area in Detroit is now America’s first self-sustainable agrihood — What an incredible garden project! (The Garden Magazine)
