We’re looking forward to an early Mother’s Day celebration with Louis and Tom’s Mom on Saturday, meeting halfway in CT, and hoping that the rain will hold off a bit. If it doesn’t, we’ll have a picnic in the car and admire the lush greens of spring.
Wishing you a wonderful first weekend in May. Happy Mother’s Day to those who are celebrating.
There are times when I feel like I’m on an endless loop of depression, fear and anger over the state of the world. The news from Ukraine is devastating. Wildfires are spreading, waters are rising. More books are being banned. This week’s news of the leaked Supreme Court draft signals a potential decision that will negatively impact so many people. I fear for our children’s future and for my own.
While these worries abound, I think that most of us continue to hope for positive change and have faith in the goodness of others. When I read about all of the people helping the Ukrainian people find shelter, food and medicine, I see proof of that goodness. I continue to hope that our humanity comes out on top.
