We’re bracing for a snowstorm and lots of shoveling this weekend.
I hope that you get as much snow as you want and that you have a cozy weekend.
I’m scheduled for surgery on my other eye next week and probably won’t do a weekend post. I’m hoping to share a post early in the week.
Here’s what’s been on my radar this week.
- Emma Straub on Opening Her Bookstore, Books Are Magic — Emma Straub transports us to a book store she loved and the characters who worked in it and frequented it. (Literary Hub)
- Reading By the Fire — I love the “bookcation” idea that Sue writes about in this post. A group of readers renting a cabin, spending time outdoors, dining at restaurants and sipping wine and talking about books in front of the fire each evening. (High Heels in the Wilderness)
- What’s Your Pro Tip? — I like Joanna’s tips. (A Cup of Jo)
Here are a couple of tips from me. Before juicing a lemon (lime, orange or grapefruit), roll it, pressing it into the countertop as you roll. You’ll get more juice from the fruit. When zest is required, zest before juicing. - Parmesan Basil Sourdough Quick Bread — Warm your kitchen and fill the house with the smell of baking bread. (Sea Salt and Sailor Stripes)
- Goodness: Not a crafter? Here’s why you should consider becoming one during the pandemic. — This is an old article, but this might be welcome information right now. (The Washington Post)
In addition to the resources mentioned in this article, check out Purl Soho for free knitting and crocheting patterns. I bought some lovely yarn from them and am using one of their scarf patterns right now. (Purl Soho)
