I plan to spend this weekend wrapping gifts and getting them ready to ship, since we won’t see anyone in person this year. Our usual long walks will be welcome after a busy work week and so much time sitting in front of a computer.

Last Saturday felt like an introduction to the long winter ahead. It rained all day and was dark and dreary. We were stuck inside and very aware of the upcoming cold pandemic months.
I’d been thinking about skipping a Christmas tree this year, with it being just the two of us. However, I’ve realized that we need the cheerfulness of lights and the smell of pine more than ever. We have to find comforting ways to get through this isolation.
