We’re hoping for a little dry weather this weekend to tackle more outdoor projects.
Have a good weekend! Happy Halloween! Stay warm and stay well.
Cold, wet weather has moved in. We shoveled snow tonight! Our firewood order should arrive any day now and we can get to work stacking it. I hope to put away pots, the bird bath and other fragile items before we have a big freeze. Last weekend, I was marveling over green beans still growing in the garden. This weekend, it feels like winter is just around the corner. Turning the clocks back tomorrow will make it feel a little closer.
I just used my sourdough starter for two cooking projects: apple bread and popovers. I noticed that the starter seemed to have lost a little of its “oomph”. Nothing too serious, it just wasn’t bubbling up quite as much. I added a good dose of wheat flour to it and left it on the counter. When I returned a couple of hours later, it was very bubbly and had risen a goodly amount. (A well fed child.) I’m trying to decide what to make with it this weekend.
