This weekend we head to the Vineyard for another week and we are so looking forward to time on the island. If the birds left us any blueberries, I’ll make some blueberry sourdough scones.
I’m taking the week off from the blog, so no posts next week. I look forward to sharing a few vacation photos when I return.
Enjoy this summer weekend and have a wonderful week.
It’s been so hot for the last couple of weeks, we’ve been getting in our weekday walks before work in the morning. Even in the morning, it has been steamy out there.
I made delicious sourdough zucchini bread last weekend. It was a nice alternative to my usual zucchini bread recipe. That sourdough starter makes me so happy! I love how it comes to life after I pull it out of the refrigerator! Bubbly, tangy goodness.
- Reconnecting with Home Through My Family’s Coffee Rituals— I was transported to Thao Thai’s grandparents’ kitchen as she told the story of drinking cà phê sữa đá (Vietnamese iced coffee) with her family. (Cupcakes and Cashmere)
- 13 Haikus About Sex in Quarantine — This might put a smile on your face. (Man Repeller)
- Family walks every street in Arlington — I’ve written about all of the walking we’ve done in Arlington and neighboring towns, but I haven’t walked every street of our town. Bucket list! (Wicked Local, Arlington)
- Speaking of walking, I’ve done all of those miles comfortably in these sneakers! I got my first pair in early March after my podiatrist recommended them and I love them. I wouldn’t rave about them as a fashion statement, but they have great cushioning and support. (Hoka One One)
- Make this creamy mozzarella for the weekend and enjoy it with the local tomatoes and good bread. Maybe a glass of rosé too.
- Goodness: During their own wedding celebration, this couple express their gratitude to Mildred Loving and Richard Loving for challenging interracial marriage laws in the 1960s. — Here’s to a wonderful love story. Their July 4th wedding cake is very cool. (New York Times)
