At least one day promises to be nice this weekend and we are looking forward to a long walk, which is now our weekend treat. We’re having a Zoom cocktail hour with friends across the country. It will be great to talk with them.
Have a good weekend. Stay well.
It’s been about six weeks of social distancing and “socializing” has taken many new forms (“virtual” cocktail hour anyone?). And, chain mail is back. To those who sent me chain email, my apologies for what I didn’t do with them. But I’d love to spend time with you on Zoom.
While walking on a very cold day, I saw two people wrapped in layers of blankets, sitting in lawn chairs on opposite sides of the lawn, chatting away. It took me a minute to realize that they were not members of the same household and they were having a visit.
My sourdough starter discard produced pizza dough last weekend (using this NYT recipe and following Pedro Pan’s comment for using more starter and no instant yeast). The pizzas were so good! I used sour milk to make Epicurious’s sour milk cornbread, including making homemade baking powder per their instructions.
After almost three and a half weeks, we shopped for groceries. We had a salad with spring lettuces one night and asparagus is in the refrigerator! Last night we devoured grilled hamburgers.
