After two days and two job interviews, I look forward to a relaxing weekend on the Vineyard. More swims, more Jane Austen (reading Emma in the hammock – bliss) and more of my husband’s company.
I hope that you have a wonderful summer weekend with lots of tomatoes and corn.
- Let’s turn our attention to tomatoes! Here are some ideas:
- Summer Spaghetti with Tomatoes, Burrata and Basil from Camille Styles.
- Loaded Grilled Steak Salad from What’s Gaby Cooking. Savory steak with peaches, avocado, heirloom tomatoes and cilantro dressing sounds amazing!
- Burrata Caprese Salad with Peaches. Joanna at Cup of Jo shares this recipe from Melissa Clark’s cookbook Dinner: Changing the Game. Peaches and tomatoes are having a moment and I’m on board.
- Heirloom Tomato Salad with Herbs and Capers. As reviewers suggest, this would be great mixed with pasta or chopped smaller and used for bruschetta.
- Baked Eggs with Heirloom Tomatoes, Herbs and Feta (another mouth-watering option from Camille Styles). Breakfast anyone?
- Port seems to be a popular color for fall. For example, this hobo bag and this one, these backless tassel loafers or these ankle strap shoes.
Some other names I’m seeing in this color range are wine, oxblood and burgundy. - Can I please be a member of this club?
- Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian have chosen not to learn the sex of their baby (years ago my husband and I opted to be surprised too). However, in an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Ohanian said that they have a hunch about the baby’s sex. Ohanian explained (referring to Serena), “Obviously, she won the Australian Open while pregnant, and she remarked that she feels like it has to be a little girl, because everything that little baby went through and handled like a champ, only a woman could be strong enough to take on.” That’s some baby girl power!
