I’m sharing several gift ideas that I love and that I think that most people will love too. I hope you find something special for everyone on your list this year.
This post includes gift ideas for children and adults, covering a wide price range.
While these are wonderful gifts, sometimes gifts of food are most appreciated. In an upcoming post, I’ll share food gifts that you can make and share with family and friends.
Kitchen and Entertaining
Cotton Bread Bag
Give a crusty boule from your local bakery with this lovely cotton bread bag from Luisa Paixão to keep the loaf fresh. The blue and white fabric, adorned with traditional Portuguese tile patterns, is sure to be a hit.
The bag comes in another whimsical design with a rainbow of bright colors. These bags will make great reusable gift bags. I’m thinking of buying some for other purposes, including to store shoes when I travel.
Beets Flour Sack Kitchen Towel
Etsy artist Pamela Cassidy has many beautiful towels with vegetable and fruit designs, such as this radish towel, a pomadoro towel, and this strawberry towel. There are also flower designs, including poppy, zinnia, and sunflower towels.
Dumpling Pin
Earlywood’s little wooden rolling pins are perfect for smaller jobs like dumplings, pot stickers, pierogi, tortillas, pizzas, wontons, or fondant. If your chef already has a favorite rolling pin for pies and pasta, they might need a special pin for small projects. This is the perfect choice!
These small rolling pins are also a great idea for child-size kitchen projects.
Stone Charcuterie Board
Your recipient might serve cheeses and meats on this slice of New England stone from American Stonecraft, but it also might be displayed as a piece of local art. Who wouldn’t want to run their fingers over the smooth surface? Each slab is cut from stones dug up in New England farms.
The board in the photo is sourced from Cook’s Valley Farm in Wrentham, MA. You can purchase stones from other New England locations. Gerald, the stone worker, makes coasters, bowls, grill stones, and a variety of other items.
Tea Time
Hand Crafted Celadon Ceramic Mug
Your recipient will love drinking their afternoon tea (or morning coffee) from this beautiful blue mug with classic crackled celadon glaze. Purchases from Novica help support artists from all over the world. This Royal Blue Orchid mug is made by an artist from Thailand named Duangkamol Srisukri. Duangkamol offers many other pottery options that you can find here.
Blueberry Blossom Honey
Add a little sweetness to someone’s day by giving them a jar of honey from The Colony in Carlisle, MA. The local bees forage on blueberry blossoms. Several sizes of honey jars are available.
Golden Milk Turmeric Latte Mix
Chai lovers might like to try their warm milk with this golden turmeric latte mix. Curio Spice Company of Cambridge, MA, makes this blend from in-house ground turmeric and warming spices to create a soothing and aromatic brew.
If you’re gifting to a chai purist, Curio Spice Company offers two chai blends to choose from: Lunar Chai and Uncommon Chai.

Garden Fresh, 100 Postcards: A Medley of Vegetables and Fruit
I bought these postcards from a local farm stand that has a small gift section and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed sending the cards to family and friends. The photos, taken by talented
This boxed set from Thriftbooks will make a great gift for anyone who appreciates the art of sending notes.
Grammar of Spice Notecards
Another lovely notecard option is these colorful cards with illustrations taken from the book The Grammar of Spice by Caz Hildebrand (Thriftbooks). Biblio sells this notecard set, which includes 16 cards with envelopes. Add a beautiful pen or some attractive Forever stamps to round out the gift.
Little Luxuries
L.A. Burdick’s Winter Chocolate Collection
Boston-based Burdick’s chocolate store makes some of the best chocolate I’ve ever tasted. It’s a luxury item and every sweet morsel will be savored. The large winter box has chocolates inspired by the foods and flavors of winter, including stollen, eggnog, grapefruit, chestnut, pistachio and fig, champagne, and more.
Other sweet options are Burdick’s chocolate penguins or snowmen packed in a beautiful wooden box.
Gardenia Plant
Winter will be made a little more cheerful with the arrival of a Bouqs gardenia plant with shiny green leaves and fragrant blossoms. The plant comes in a pretty white pot that resembles dotted milk glass.
Bouqs Co. has lots of beautiful bouquets, such as this one with white Gerbera daisies and red roses or this bouquet with white roses and red berries.
Bouqs Co. partners with sustainable farms that minimize waste, recycle water, and protect workers’ well-being, a bonus when ordering from them.
For the Kiddos
My First Blocks Set
A set of blocks is a classic gift that provides hours of entertainment. Let creativity abound with these smooth beautiful wooden blocks from Maple Landmark in Middlebury, Vermont. I remember loving blocks as a child and my son and his friends spent hours playing with blocks.
This set is made from locally sourced, sustainably harvested maple hardwood. It includes 21 blocks of different shapes and sizes. Give a little one this set and the magic begins.
Toddler Holiday Gripper Calf Sock Set
Bombas socks are one of my favorite gifts to give and these toddler socks will bring a smile to everyone’s faces. Polar bears in sweaters and penguins in scarves will entertain the wearer. Parents will appreciate that a purchase of this gift also provides socks to people in need.
The grippers on the bottom of the socks will keep the little ones secure as they run around the house in their stocking feet.
The baby socks are cute too!
