Fall is showing off its bright reds and yellows, a colorful consolation for the arrival of frost and cold winds. And late summer flowers linger, bursting with their last blooms of the season.
I want to share with you the fall foliage and flowers that are bringing so much color and cheer to my walks this fall.
A glorious abundance of sedum and marigolds in a front yard. Mums are in bud and soon to flower.
Loving these vibrant pink roses, low to the ground. You can see a bit of a Japanese maple in the upper right corner, with its leaves turning red.
Goldenrod is a welcome sight in New England’s late summer and early fall. With its bright yellow flowers, it rises high in graceful arcs.
A towering collection of morning glories in beautiful shades of purple and pink.
It doesn’t offer much color at this time of year, but money plant makes up for its lack of color with its magical shine and interior seeds that rattle in the breeze.
This lovely sweet pea shows off the last of its blooms and they pop against the green pine.
A row of this pink sedum lined a cracked sidewalk, making the neighborhood bees very happy.
False sunflowers provide a vibrant green and yellow background for tall grass.
The reddest of all, these holly berries are such a brilliant color.
All of this beauty makes me welcome more fall walks.
