We’re headed out for a nice dinner this evening at one of my favorite French bistros. I’m planning to turn my attention to some much needed housework this weekend. I know, too much fun.
Have a great weekend!
- I like this explanation of Hopepunk.
- If you want to be a writer, read this first (Full disclosure, I read about this on another blog. And Phillip Pullman’s quote makes me feel that it is okay to reshare.)
- How doll production reflects society’s trends. Blare Wilson is the newest American Girl doll. She lives in a sustainable farm (an old Victorian turned into a bed and breakfast) in upstate New York. She’s a future food blogger.
- Lydia Fenet heads strategic partnerships at Christie’s Auction House and sometimes acts as an auctioneer for nonprofit fundraisers. She’s also the author of a soon to be released book called The Most Powerful Woman in the Room Is You. I like what she said in this interview about learning to be comfortable with being rejected.
“Ultimately, all of us are going to get rejected, but the key is remembering that they’re not rejecting YOU personally. They’re rejecting a scenario, or something that they’re not interested in at this time. But there will be other times. So, don’t think of it as a door that’s been closed. Think of it as a momentary pause.” - samsontheladle — Makes me smile. (Someone gave me this ladle for Christmas a couple of years ago. My ladle has not had adventures and I think that Samson should meet his twin.)
- Julie Yip-Williams has been reminding me to appreciate my life.
- I’m hankering for a slice of this Meyer Lemon Wild Blueberry Cornbread.
- Goodness: This homeless magazine seller is so beloved by the people in his community, they showered him with love and bought him a VW home.
