I’m excited to see some of Louis’s work at an exhibit on Martha’s Vineyard this weekend and to spend time with him and Jorja.
I hope that this first full weekend of August brings you lots of sunshine.
When I decided to take a more relaxed approach to posting on the blog, I wasn’t planning to take almost half a year off. What is the saying? “Life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans.” I was busy, that’s for sure. Perhaps not making plans, but I was in constant motion this spring and summer.
In the spring we traveled to Puerto Rico, then to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and on to Virginia to visit friends. When we weren’t traveling, we focused on yard and house work. I’ve had other projects, including genealogy research. I’ll share more about that later.
It hasn’t all been work. We’ve had lots of visitors, making many good memories with them.
With a small lull this week, I decided to focus on the blog. I downloaded photos for the first time in months and started writing. Voilà! I published a recipe earlier this week (listed below).
- A Group Exhibition and artist residency program at The Floating Gallery — An article about the exhibit, in which Louis is showing work. (Martha’s Vineyard Times)
- The Floating Gallery — The unique art gallery on Martha’s Vineyard where the exhibit will be held. (The Floating Gallery)
- Frances Sprout’s Sunday Substack, Summerwise 26.3 — Scroll down in Frances’s post for her beautiful hand-knit, striped sweater that has me craving a visit to the local yarn store to select colors. (Materfamilias/Substack)
- My All-Time Greatest Packing Tip — Would this packing tip work for you? I’m still trying to figure out the perfect packing formula, but my number one packing tip is to pack a change of clothes in your carry-on. (Cup of Jo)
- Beet Tzatziki — Need an appetizer for a summer gathering? Try this beautiful and brightly-flavored dip. (Sea Salt and Sailor Stripes)
