We’re looking forward to hosting a dinner for friends this weekend, and the rest of the weekend is full of pre-holiday activities.
Happy holidays to you and your loved ones.
While I experience the joy of gathering with loved ones, I’m acutely aware of how difficult the holidays will be for so many people. Here in the U.S. and around the world, shootings and war have devastated people. Even as I extend holiday wishes, my heart is with everyone experiencing devastating loss.
I hope that your holidays are special and that you have a good start to 2026. I’ll be back to the blog some time in the new year.
Here’s what I have to share this weekend.
- Lexington Community Farm — If you live in the Lexington, MA area, this farm stand has lots of small last-minute gifts, such as tomato relish (perfect on sandwiches), organic red popping corn, granola, delicious olive oil, and gift baskets. (Lexington Community Farm)
- Wintering — A book recommended for its look at coping with hardship and winter. With the cold season upon us, it might be a good read. (Bookshop.org)
- Taken Correctly, This Mineral May Shorten Your Cold — Some new information about a popular cold remedy. (The Washington Post)
- White Bean Dip with Roasted Cranberry Compote — Here’s an easy dip to serve during the holidays. (Sea Salt and Sailor Stripes)
- Goodness: He Carries Shelter Dogs Around the City in a Backpack to Help Get them Adopted — This is a wonderful story about new beginnings for dogs and a guy with a big heart. (Good News Network)
