In the middle of the chaos and frightening events of the last couple of months, it was reassuring to see how many people joined the Hands Off protests on April 5th.
Protesting isn’t going to magically change our current political situation, but it reminds me that most Americans believe in the work of our government agencies that support scientific research, aid people abroad, and provide services to the American people who paid for them with their taxes.
Seeing the huge turnouts for Bernie Sanders rallies and the massive approval of Cory Booker’s 25-hour speech, gives me hope for our democracy.
