This weekend, we’re headed to Connecticut to go apple picking with my mother-in-law. It’s supposed to be a beautiful warm day. I can’t wait!
Have a great weekend! Happy trick or treating next week!
There’s nothing like a special trip to make one stop and appreciate everything. Our week in California was packed with experiences that were out of our ordinary. Visits with family and friends we don’t often see. Birds we’ve never seen before. Crashing West Coast waves rolling along vast beaches. Scents of lavender, sage brush, and rosemary. Rosemary shrubs! Lizards that were so well camouflaged, I didn’t see them on the dirt in front of me until I stepped and saw movement as they scurried out of my way. I’ll be enjoying the memories of the trip for a long time.
Here’s what I have to share this weekend.

- The 2023 Audubon Photography Awards — I’m late sharing these stunning photos and great stories of how the photographers captured their shots. (Audubon)

- Mini Burnt Chocolate Basque Cheesecake — I don’t know how I missed this when it was first posted and I can’t wait to try it. The fruit topping is stunning! (Joy the Baker)
- Colors That Will Make You Smile — Sharing some bright colors from my recent trip to California. (Sea Salt and Sailor Stripes)
- Goodness: When Builders in Maui Constructed Tiny Homes for Man’s Family, it Grew into Crowdfunded Rehousing Project — It’s great to read about tiny homes providing shelter and income for people who lost so much. (Good News Network)
