Instead of my usual weekend post, I’m winding down my blog entries for the year and sending holiday greetings. I hope that you and your loved ones have a safe and happy holiday season.
We lost my mother-in-law this week and, while the suddenness of her passing is a bit of a shock, everyone is grateful for her wonderful life of 98 1/2 years. She was lucky to have had so much happiness during her time on earth and to have had children who were devoted to her in her final, more fragile years.
2023 was a tough year for so many people. I hope that 2024 brings some hope and peace. Best wishes to you for the new year ahead.
About the photo: In October, we visited my father-in-law’s grave and I took this photo of blue berries on a juniper tree in the cemetery. Many of my mother-in-law’s ancestors are buried there and it is a beautiful place.
