It’s the weekend!

This weekend we’re finishing up our vacation in Montreal and heading home to welcome in 2018 with friends.

I wish you a joyful and healthy 2018.

2017. What a year.

  • I cannot think back on this year without thinking of all of the people impacted by natural disasters and violence. One America Appeal is taking donations to help hurricane victims.
  • #MeToo. It’s just the beginning.
  • What stuff was important to us in 2017? Here’s what the New York Times has to say: The Year in Stuff.
  • What words mattered in 2017? Medium’s Words That Matter 2017 includes essays on this subject written by writers, politicians and other influential people.
  • Here’s an interesting mix of lessons learned this year from A Cup of Jo.

A lot happened on a personal level this year.

  • Our son graduated from college (summa cum laude, proud Mom says). He landed a job in New York City, got an apartment and a painting studio.
  • We lost my father-in-law. We’ll miss him very much. We’re happy for the many great years we had with him.
  • I started this blog.

Here’s a look at some of the “best of 2017.”
