It’s going to be a weekend of winter season firsts. We’re getting our first snow tomorrow. I’ll be pulling out my wool socks for their first wearing this winter. When we aren’t shoveling, we’ll light this winter’s first fire in our fireplace. Winter is coming.

- I finished listening to The Couple Next Door and moved on to All The Missing Girls. If you’ve already listened to (or read) Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train and you need more thrillers with female main characters, you might consider these books.
- Speaking of female characters, we just finished watching the latest season of Broachchurch. Ellie Miller is a great character and the partnership between the two detectives (Ellie and Alec Hardy) really works.
